    JavaScript is a scripting language that is promoted by Netscape. It is a different version of Java and nothing more but with a few modifications.

    A better explanation would be that it is a programming language that is used to make web pages interactive. It runs on your visitor's computer and so does not require constant downloads from your web site.

    Are Java and Javascript the same? ummm NO, they are two completely different computer languages. The only thing similar are the names.
